Metal foil apertures are all made using electroforming techniques to give excellent edge definition and straightness/roundness, features essential in many optical applications to provide precise beam definition without light scatter.
Glass apertures are created using vacuum deposited chrome and photomasks, this allows more complex and smaller patterns with high image definition.
